Megan Schatzschneider

MENTOR

Family Nurse Practitioner - LLUMC

Megan Schatzschneider is a Family Nurse Practitioner who is passionate about women’s health and helping people live healthier lives. She grew up in Wrightwood, California, a small town with limited medical resources, where there was only one doctor and the closest hospital was one hour away. A 10th grade field trip to the embryology museum at Loma Linda University sparked her interest in the medical field, specifically maternal-fetal health. While deciding whether to pursue medicine or nursing, Megan observed a home birth with a midwife. She was inspired by how the midwife worked closely with the patient and the independence the role offered, which led her to choose nursing.

Megan earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Loma Linda University in 2003 and began her career in Labor and Delivery. Over the years, she expanded her experience to include case management, nursing management, and nursing education. Megan taught Health Assessment and Pharmacology at Loma Linda University’s School of Nursing, where she loved mentoring students and helping them apply what they learned in the classroom to real-life situations. During her time teaching, Megan became interested in research on gestational diabetes and preventive medicine.

After earning her Master of Science in Nursing with a Family Nurse Practitioner concentration from Loma Linda University, Megan has spent the last 10 years working in Preventive Medicine at Loma Linda University Health. She works to promote healthy lifestyle choices, such as eating well, exercising, quitting smoking, and managing stress. Her goal is to help people reduce their risk of chronic diseases like heart disease, diabetes, and obesity.

Destiny.jpeg

Destiny Zeremba

CEO - Honey + Lemon Clothing

Destiny was born and raised in Muscoy, an unincorporated area of San Bernardino, and attended Arroyo Valley High School before starting her career at Wells Fargo as a personal banker. With a strong emphasis on sales, she spent seven years in retail banking, developing financial expertise and customer service skills. During this time, Destiny briefly attended Riverside Community College but struggled with focus, ultimately leading her to leave school. Her time at Wells Fargo came to an end after seven years, marking a significant turning point in her life.

Following her departure from the bank, Destiny faced a series of devastating personal losses, including the passing of her baby, brother, father, stepbrother, stepfather, and ultimately her mother to drug addiction. These tragedies deeply affected Destiny, leading to a period of severe depression and a loss of self-confidence. In the midst of her healing journey, she discovered the transformative power of getting dressed—how something as simple as putting on an outfit could immediately shift her energy and restore her confidence. However, Destiny realized that finding stylish and flattering clothing for her age group was an overwhelming and often overlooked challenge. That realization sparked a new purpose in her: to bridge that gap. Today, she stands as a first-generation business owner, offering healing through something small yet impactful…getting dressed.
